Update: California Restores Funding for Long-Term Care Ombuds

Despite protracted budget problems bedeviling the state, California legislators passed Assembly Bill 392 to provide $1.6 million for local Long-Term Care Ombudsman over the next year. The funding bill reverses part of the money Governor Schwarzenegger cut last year from the programs that protect California´s vulnerable and elderly residents of nursing care and assisted living facilities.
