Update: University of Texas Nearing End of Search for Staff Ombuds

The University of Texas at Austin is interviewing five candidates for its first Ombudsperson for staff.  The finalists will interview with three groups of University employees, including administrators, faculty members and representatives from Staff Council.

Unlike the existing UT Ombuds for faculty and students, the new staff Ombuds will work full-time in the role. The UT Office of the President will provide the budget for the new office -- an estimated $125,000 in salaries for the Ombudsperson and full-time administrative assistant, and $2,700 for travel to conferences and workshops.
