IOA to Offer Ombuds Training in Rome

The International Ombudsman Association has announced that it will offer its most popular course, Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Practice, and a one-day specialized course at the World Food Programme Headquarters in Rome, Italy on June 23 through June 26, 2013. 

The Foundations course is intended for recently-appointed Ombuds and individuals interested becoming or establishing an Ombuds. The 2½ day course provides basic information and training for the Organizational Ombuds by emphasizing and practicing the principles of confidentiality, neutrality, independence, and informality. Instructors have not been named.

The specialized course, "Smart Leaders, Smarter Teams: Helping Teams Get Unstuck and Achieve Results" will be taught by Roger Schwartz, an organizational psychologist and leadership consultant. The training is based Schwartz's book and aims to teach attendees how to help leaders identify a team’s collective mindset. (IOA Professional Development.)
