Job Posting: Federal Bureau of Prisons

The subdivision of the U.S. Department of Justice that runs the federal prison system is hiring a Program Officer (Ombudsman). The position will implement and manage an Ombudsman Program for approximately 37,000 BOP employees nationwide. Some travel is required and the position may also be eligible for telework. 

The GS-15 position pays $124,995 to 157,100 per year. Applications are due June 27, 2014. (Federal Government Jobs.)

This position is only open to “Status candidates” which refers to those individuals who are current or former Federal civilian employees who hold or held non-temporary appointments in the competitive service, not the excepted service.
