Job Posting: Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs

The U.S. Department of Labor office that is responsible for ensuring that Federal contractors comply with the laws and regulations requiring nondiscrimination is hiring its first Ombudsman. The new OFCCP Ombuds program is intended to increase transparency and communication with stakeholders.

The new Ombuds will report to the OFCCP Director and will be responsible to setting up the program.
Major duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Designs, implements, and executes the Ombud Service to bring an impartial and independent perspective to facilitate communication with external stakeholders on OFCCP matters. 
  • Manages all aspects of OFCCP’s Ombud Service.  Plans work to be accomplished, sets and adjusts priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work, and provides recommendations to the director regarding resolution of concerns raised by external stakeholders.
  • Provides regular reports to the director on Ombud activities, and ad hoc reports or recommendations on a range of issues related to OFCCP programs.  
  • Provides recommendations to the director to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of internal OFCCP operations in support of achieving the agency’s priorities, goals, and objectives.
Occasional travel (1-5 nights a year) is required. The position pays $134,789 to $164,200 per year and a relocation bonus of $25,000 may be available. Applications are due January 11, 2019 (a date that had been set before the current government shut down.) (USA Jobs.)
