Georgia State University Adds an Ombuds

Corey D. Givens has joined the GSU Office of the Ombudsperson as an Assistant Ombudsperson. He is expected to work with undergraduate and Master's students on all GSU campuses.  Givens has worked at GSU for over six years in a variety of positions, most recently as Coordinator of Judicial Affairs.

Givens graduated from Georgia State University and earned a JD at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. He is completing a Master’s of Education in Higher Education Administration at Georgia Southern University. His research interests include social justice, race and sexuality in higher education, and the intersection of law and education. As a volunteer, he has served as a mentor for both Community Connections in the Multicultural Center and the African American Male Initiative. (GSU Ombuds; LinkedIn.)
