University of Texas Medical Branch Names Faculty Ombuds
The
academic health center in Galveston has appointed Cary W. Cooper as its next Faculty Ombudsperson. Cooper is an Adjunct Faculty member, having retired in 2013 as Vice President and Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical
Sciences. As Ombuds, he will work with faculty on a part-time basis. Cooper was a Professor of Pharmacology at UTMB for more than three decades. In addition to his faculty work, he also served as Department Chair, Dean, Vice President, and Interim Executive Vice President and Provost. He graduated from Bowdoin College and earned his PhD in physiology from Rice University. (UTMB Ombuds; UTMB Alumni News.)
