The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the Gavi Vaccine Alliance are seeking proposals for a new Ombudsman program. The position will serve staff, consultants, and interns following IOA standards. The work may be performed remotely, but quarterly travel to Geneva is required. The position reports jointly to the chiefs of both organizations.
The contract is for an initial period of two years and may be extended up to twice (to a total of six years).
Applicants must have experience in an Ombudsman role, preferably for a period of at least 5 years. Proposals are due by November 19, 2017. (Global Fund/Gavi RFP, via Global Fund Business Opportunities.)
Update 12/3/20: David Miller served as the first Global Fund Ombudsman from 2010 until 2017. Indumati Sen worked as Ombudsman for both the Global Fund and Gavi from August 2018 to July 2020. (GFO Newsletter.)
