Pacific Northwest College of Art Names First Ombuds and Ombuds Panel
The private fine arts and design college in Portland, Oregon has appointed its Chief Diversity Officer and Assistant Dean of Diversity and Inclusion, V. Maldonado, as its first Ombudsperson. Maldonado works with an Ombuds Panel, that currently includes: Darby Knox, Panel Chair and Vice President for Student Life; Quyen Le, Assistant Director International Office; Everette Rice, Campus Safety Manager; Jackson Seemayer, Assistant Director of Student Life; and Kat McAnalley, Coordinator of Student Life & Events. The PNCA Ombuds serves as a confidential and informal resource for 1,000 faculty, staff, and students.
Maldonado joined the PNCA faculty in 2007 and in 2010 was appointed the college’s first Inclusions Specialist. They have held a variety of administrative positions including Interim Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and founding member of the Equity Council. Maldonado graduated from the California College of Art and earned an MFA at the School of Art Institute in Chicago. (PNCA Ombuds; PNCA Press.)
