Mary Francis has been appointed the first Ombudsperson for the public university in Madison, South Dakota in January 2021. She will serve as a resource for faculty and administration with issues related to DSU or South Dakota Board of Regents policies and procedures. Francis holds a faculty position, Reference Instruction Librarian, and will serve as Ombuds for a three-year term.
Francis has worked in the DSU library since 2007. She graduated from the Franciscan University and earned an MA at the University of Iowa and an MS at the University of South Dakota. (DSU Ombuds; LinkedIn.)
