Nancy Fournier was appointed ombudsman at Laval
University in the October 2020 for a five-year term. She serves all members of the campus community at the public research university in Quebec City, including 43,000 students. Fournier comes to the position after a dozen years in legal affairs and risk management at Le CIUSSS de l’Estrie (CHUS), a large health care organization in Quebec.
Forunier has also worked as a coroner and in the field of occupational
health and safety. She is a member of the Order of Chartered
Human Resources Advisors and certified mediator. The job is a homecoming for Fornier, who earned Bachelors degrees and a diploma in organizational development from Laval, and then a MS at Université de Sherbrooke. (Laval Ombuds; ULaval nouvelles; LinkedIn.)
