The multilateral development bank based in Beijing has opened a search for its first Ombudsperson. The AIIB Office of the Ombudsperson will perform three principal functions: 1. provide impartial and confidential assistance in the informal resolution of conflicts and other issues brought to the attention of the Office; 2. monitor trends and emerging issues and provide guidance and advice on ways to improve the workplace environment; and 3. manage the Respectful Workplace Advisors Program. (These features are very similar to the Ombuds programs at the World Bank, Global Green Growth Institute, and other multilateral development banks.)
Applicants must have at least 20 years of professional experience, including a minimum of four years of experience with AIIB (which itself is just five years old), a Master’s degree or equivalent, and managerial experience. The official language of AIIB is English and other language skills are not required. No salary indicated. Applications are due by August 9, 2021. (AIIB Posting.)
