Université de Sherbrooke, the large public university in Quebec, is hiring a Student Ombudsman. The position serves a student population of about 40,000, practicing to principles of confidentiality, independence, impartiality, consistency and fairness. The Sherbrooke Ombuds reports to the Secretary General for Administration under the authority of the University's board of directors and also oversees the Respect for Persons Advisory Team. Soucila Badaroudine has served in the position since 2006 and the Deputy Ombudsman currently is Caroline Audette.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least five years of experience, including management responsibilities. An advanced degree is preferred. French fluency (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English are required. The position pays $109,239 to $132,779 and applications are due by October 11, 2021. (USherbrooke Emplois.)
