The Canadian multinational banking and financial services company is hiring a Manager for its Staff Ombuds Office. The full-time, fully remote, and bilingual position "provides a safe, trustworthy and readily accessible source of early assistance for employees at all levels, contingent workers, retirees, and former employees when they have a workplace concern at Scotiabank or want information about where to seek assistance related to their work at Scotiabank."
Applicants must have: a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, a high degree of fluency in English and French and five to seven years of experience in an HR or management role. ADR certification (e.g. Stitt, Feld, Handy) would be an asset and CHRP or CHRL designation are preferred. No salary or closing date indicated. (Scotiabank Jobs.)
Sad is an understatement when Scotiabank has a workforce of over 45k in Canada alone. HR should should understand that the Ombuds role should be compensated based on the complexity of the organization and the demands of the workforce to address various types of issues.
Apparently the role is not going to compensate more than $125k CAD.
ReplyDeleteA maximum salary of $93,100.00 US for a supervisor and the other "wants" is quite sad.

ReplyDeleteAt Boeing, the Ombuds has a VP title, which would ordinarily come with stock options and bonuses.
