WCPSS, a public school district in North Carolina, is hiring its first Ombuds. The new position will report directly to the superintendent and serve employees, students (160,000 currently enrolled), families, volunteers, and community partners. According to a news report in 2022, "Wake Superintendent Cathy Moore said that the idea for the position had been brought up in 2020 before being put on hold during the pandemic." The position will be available April 1, 2024, and is not available for a hybrid telework workweek.
Applicants must have Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience mediating work-related conflicts and/or experience as an Ombuds. Preferred qualifications include an advanced and K-12 experience. No salary or application date provided. (WCPSS Careers; Raleigh News & Observer.)
