Job Posting: University of Calgary

The large, public research university in Alberta is seeking its next Student Ombuds, which serves about 36,000 students. The full-time position is part of the Office of Student Experience & Support and reports operationally to the Senior Director, Student Affairs. Currently, Karen Quinn is serving in the role on an interim basis.

Required qualifications include a graduate or professional degree in a relevant field, at least five years of relevant professional experience, and experience in an Ombuds office and/or post-secondary environment. Training or certification in mediation, conflict coaching, or facilitation is strongly preferred, along with knowledge of ACCUO and/or FCO Standards of Practice. The expected compensation ranges from $112,946 to $130,325 per year and the application deadline is February 10, 2026. (UCalgary Careers.)
