Anna Soedira, the former Ombudsperson for Staff at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, is seeking formal redress and compensation from the university following her departure in 2025. Soedira left after the university’s Executive Board withdrew its confidence in her. She is now seeking to have her reputation restored and to receive compensation, with support from the university’s representative council.
The dispute follows Soedira’s critical 2024 Ombuds report, which documented 106 cases during an 18-month period and raised concerns including what she described as institutional gaslighting. At the time, TU/e disputed some of her assertions but agreed that the report warranted discussion by the University Council. The latest development brings the difficult relationship between an independent Ombuds and the university that employs the office into renewed focus. (TU/e Cursor.)
This situation brings to mind something emphasized in this article: https://ombuds-blog.blogspot.com/2026/08/article-examines-structural.html?m=1
