Austria Publishes Updated Directory of Higher Education Ombuds Offices
The Austrian Agency for Research Integrity (ÖAWI) has published the seventh edition of Ombudsstellen und ähnliche Einrichtungen im österreichischen Hochschul- und Forschungsraum (Ombuds Offices and Similar Institutions in Austrian Higher Education and Research). Published earlier this year, the 231-page directory catalogs Ombuds offices and related services across Austria’s higher education and research sectors, documenting their institutional settings and areas of responsibility.
The new edition also marks the tenth anniversary of the Austrian Higher Education Ombuds Network, established in 2016. Anna-Katharina Rothwangl, head of Austria’s national Student Ombuds Office, co-authored the foreword with Sabine Chai of ÖAWI, reflecting on the network’s growth and the expanding role of Ombuds services in higher education and research. The directory provides an overview of Austria’s Ombuds landscape and a useful resource for those interested in the development of institutional Ombuds services internationally. (ÖAWI.)
