Leslie (Nelson) Kellogg, the first Ombudsperson for Bastyr University, the alternative medicine university near Seattle, has departed, and the President has decided to close the office. The Ombuds Office was created January 2018 as an IOA-compliant resource for all staff, students, and faculty on both campuses and for two medical clinics.
Kellogg saw over 13% of the population and her office was voted in the top ten in satisfaction surveys for the 2018/2019 school year. She has taken a position with Microsoft as a Senior Employee Relations Manager for a new initiative to address workplace conflict.

Bad decision on the President to close the office because it seems that if Kellogg saw 13% of the total population at Bastyr then that's well above the typical 3-5% usage rate of a population we see across the field. This likely means there were a number of situations and people she helped. People that now don't have the same resource available. Bad decision.
