ISU is seeking a full-time permanent Ombuds starting in January 2022. Iowa State's Ombuds Office was established in 2008 and practices to IOA standards. Reporting to the Office of the Senior Vice President & Provost and the Ombuds provides information and support to over 9,000 faculty, professional and scientific and merit staff (excluding the campus's Department of Public Safety AFSCME-covered staff), postdocs, and graduate and professional students.
While ISU's Ombuds Office has historically utilized a single in-house Ombuds with an office on-campus, ISU leadership outsourced the function in July 2020 until now using two Ombuds from MWI (Jai Calloway and Chuck Doran) who provided services virtually during the pandemic.
No salary or closing date indicated. The executive placement firm of Buffkin/Baker is also assisting with the search. (ISU Confidential Posting.)
