The
Office of the UN Ombudsman and Mediation Services is accepting applications for an unpaid internship in its Geneva headquarters. The temporary position is full-time and will last at least three to six months. The intern will assist with outreach activities, data and report preparation, and research for training development. Applicants must be in or have completed their final year of a first university degree, be fluent in English and French, and cover all costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses. The posting period for the internship ends September 13, 2022. (UN Careers.)

This is embarrassing. A 3-6 month unpaid internship where the intern is responsible for likely thousands of dollars in expenses.
ReplyDeleteI know this isn't new, and that the UN can apparently find folks to fill these roles so they keep doing it, but what a profound barrier to entry.
