Riley E. Barrar has been hired as an Associate Ombuds at BU. She joins University Ombuds Francine Montemurro, and Consulting Ombuds Howard Gadlin, and fills a position vacated by Adam Barak Kleinberger. Barrar comes to the position from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where she was an an Associate Ombudsman at the CFPB Ombudsman’s Office.
Previously, Barrar was as an Associate Ombudsman at the Department of State and an ADR Program Specialist at the Air Force Office of the General Counsel. She served as Co-Secretary of the Coalition of Federal Ombudsman from 2016-2018 and Co-Chair of the Federal Conflict Coaching Group from 2013-2016. Barrar graduated from James Madison University and earned a Master's in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University with a focus on Narrative Conflict Resolution. (BU Ombuds.)
