Last month, Ellen Miller, the Executive Director of the International Ombuds Association, announced that the organization had retained a lobbying firm. She explained that the lobbyist would focus on U.S. Department of Education (related to proposed amendments to Title IX) and more generally with federal legislators. At the time of the announcement, IOA did not name the lobbying firm. Now, the mandatory, quarterly filing pursuant to the Lobbying Disclosure Act reveals that Innovative Federal Strategies, LLC, is the K-Street firm advocating for IOA.
Innovative Federal Strategies is bipartisan firm whose staff have significant federal service in the legislative and executive branches. It was founded in 1996 and is, according to Bloomberg Government, a high-performing lobbying firm. Some of its other 223 clients Trimble Inc., General Dynamics Corp., L3 Technologies Inc., General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., and Northrop Grumman Corp.
