The private research university in Washington, DC, is hiring its first Staff Ombudsperson. The new, full-time, hybrid position will serve about 1,500 staff and academic & administrative professionals across five campuses and report to the Chief Operating Officer. The University Staff Ombudsperson will supplement the work of Georgetown's Student Ombuds, Daniela Brancaforte, Faculty Ombuds Office, Catherine Langlois, and Ombudsperson for the School of Medicine, Stacey Kaltman (all with separate offices and reporting lines, and all practicing to IOA standards).
Applicants must have a Master's degree, at least seven years of relevant experience, and five years of professional work experience in areas of conflict resolution, as an Ombuds in a professional workplace, or in a closely related position. A relevant Master’s or other advanced degree or advanced certificate (i.e., mediation, other conflict or dispute resolution, organizational psychology, higher education, counseling, or related fields) and professional work experience in the areas of conflict resolution, as an Ombuds in a professional workplace, or in a closely related position in a university setting are preferred.
