University of South Carolina Debuts Staff Ombuds Office
Robynn Pease has been appointed the inaugural Staff Ombudsperson for USC, the public research university in Columbia, South Carolina. In this new, full-time position, Pease will serve nearly 15,000 staff and report to the Director of Organizational Development. She supplements the work Robin DiPietro, who has became USC's Faculty Ombuds last summer.
Pease comes to the position from Oregon State University, where she was an Associate Ombuds in 2023 and Faculty Ombuds from 2016 to 2020. She also was a Long-term Care Ombudsman for over a decade. In addition to administrative positions, Pease has also been an instructor in sociology and social gerontology at Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz and earned an MA from San Francisco State University and a PhD from the University of Kentucky. (USC Staff Ombuds; LinkedIn.)
