The United Nations Ombudsman and Mediation Services is hiring a Regional Ombudsman for its office in Amman. The position will serve the UN Relief and Works Agency and its staff in locations assisting Palestinian refugees. The position is contracted for five years and is not renewable.Applicants must have advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in a relevant area or equivalent experience; and at least ten years of professional experience, including five years at the international level and at least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA.
Candidates are required to make a declaration as to whether they have any current or past affiliations with non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, political organizations, military, or have/are engaged in activities or have made any public statements, that could be seen to impact their neutrality, objectivity or independence in the performance of their duties for the UN / UNRWA.
English fluency is required and Arabic is preferred. The position is expected to pay $132,205 (net) and applications are due by November 26, 2025. (UN Job Net.)
