Ombuds to Head ABA Dispute Resolution Section

Elizabeth ("Liz") Hill has begun her year as the Chair of the American Bar Association, Dispute Resolution Section. This marks the first time that an Ombuds has headed the influential section of more than 12,000 members that promotes ADR practices globally. Hill is well known for her advocacy on behalf of Ombuds, including work on the ABA Dispute Resolution Section’s Ombuds Committee (including Ombuds Day), several IOA committees, Colorado Ombuds Group, and Association for Conflict Resolution. She has been an Organizational Ombuds at the University of Colorado Boulder and Apollo Education Group, and a Classical Ombuds for the State of Arizona. Last week, she became the first Director of Communications and Development for MWI. (LinkedIn.)

Update 8/12/24: Liz encourages people to consider joining and becoming involved in the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. Membership is not limited to attorneys and there are reduced dues for affiliated professionals. People can contact her directly or membership officer Liz Carter at ecarter@jamsadr.com
