I have talked about the benefits of listening with empathy on my blog many times. Dr Steven Covey recently talked about the benefits of the Indian talking stick. The premise goes that when one person has the stick the other person can’t speak, interrupt or talk over the other person. I think this could be a very constructive tool for conflict resolution and mediation in general.
