The public university in Fort Myers has opened a search for its first Assistant Ombuds. The position will serve all FGCU stakeholders, a population of nearly 20,000 and report to the University Ombuds, Monique McKay. In addition, the Assistant Ombuds, "plans meetings and events, conducts research, tracks cases and compiles data, and performs other administrative duties."
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of related professional full-time experience. Preferred qualifications include: a master’s degree or law degree; three or more years of professional full-time experience in conflict resolution, such as mediation, conflict coaching, or facilitation in a higher education setting; and knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, and public sector employment policies and procedures. The position pays $60,000 to $62,500 per year and applications are due January 26, 2020. (FGCU Posting.)
