The public research university in Iowa City will expand its Ombuds Office with the hiring of a second Assistant Ombudsperson. The new, full-time position will serve faculty, staff and students, including all of UI Healthcare. The Assistant Ombuds will report to University Ombudsperson, Chanelle Reese, CO-OP, Assistant Ombuds, Corey P. Pass, and half-time Faculty Ombuds,Meenakshi Gigi Durham.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of conflict management experience. Preferred qualifications include: a Master’s degree; Ombuds, mediation, facilitation, or conflict coaching training; and Ombuds office experience. The posting will be open for 14 days and the compensation range for the position appears to be $39,732 to $75,151 per year. (Iowa Posting.)
I found that range on the university's HR site (https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/professional-and-scientific-pay-structure#heading41971). This sort of wide range for general job classifications seems fairly common at colleges and university.
Yikes, that is quite the hiring range. Here's hoping the final offer is closer to that end number.

DeleteHR indicates that the range is 40-50k, which even for a city with relatively low cost of living seems on the lower end.
