Yale University Names First Ombuds

Dawn Osborne-Adams was named the inaugural University Ombuds for Yale according to an announcement from the University President today. Osborne-Adams will set up a program to serve more than 45,000 faculty, staff, and graduate and professional school students across the university and report directly to the President. She will start on September 1, 2026.

Osborne-Adams comes to Yale from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she has been the University ombuds for the past eight years. Osborne-Adams' professional experience including a stint as the Ombuds at Binghamton University and director of the ADR program for the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. Osborne-Adams graduated from Georgetown University and earned her JD at New York University School of Law. (Yale News.)
