CDC Ombuds Issue Memo to Employees
In the wake of a standoff between their agency and Sen. Charles Grassley over a Senate briefing, the ombuds at the Centers for Disease Control have issued a report detailing their activities over the past six months. Although the CDC has 9,000 employees and 5,000 contractors, the ombuds recorded just 98 visitors, a figure well below what would be expected, especially considering the reports of widespread discontentment within the agency. To their credit, the CDC ombuds emphasized their compliance with IOA principles and also indicated that their office is using IOA database reporting categories.
