The fifth largest UC campus is hiring a Campus Ombudsperson. The primary function of the full time position is to provide a confidential, impartial, and informal setting for problem resolution for the entire campus community, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other campus constituencies -- a population of more than 25,000.
The search will fill the position held by Priscilla Mori, who is retiring after serving as Campus Ombuds since 2007. The office staff includes Kirsi Aulin, Associate Ombuds; Bill Forgie, Faculty Ombuds; and Summer Turner, Analyst and Intake Coordinator.
Applicants should have Ombuds experience in an institution of higher education. The position pays $79,308-$93,627 per year and applications should be submitted by April 19. (UCSB Jobs.)
That salary range is low compared to similar Ombuds positions with the UC.
ReplyDeletewhy do you think that is?
ReplyDeleteUC campuses operate fairly independently and the current salary probably reflects the history of the position at UCSB.
