Ron McGlone has been appointed as the first District Ombudsman for the families of 48,500 public school students in Seattle. SPS Interim Superintendent Susan Enfield said that the position, which reports directly to her office, was created to help families better navigate the customer service process. According to the website for the new SPS District Ombudsman, the program is independent, confidential, and informal.
McGlone has more than 30 years of professional experience working with and serving children and families in Seattle. Most recently, he served as the districts Outreach Coordinator. McGlone earned a MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College NW and he graduated from Cheyney University. He is a member of the U.S. Ombudsman Association.
