Volunteer Opportunity: Canadian Paralympic Committee

The Canadian Paralympic Committee is seeking volunteer Ombudspersons for the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games and/or the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. The Ombuds will provide guidance and counsel for Canadian Paralympic Team Members to quickly and effectively resolve disputes and issues.

If necessary, with the Team Members’ consent, the Ombuds may arrange representation for a Team Member at any hearing, dispute resolution or appeal process in order to ensure Team Canada’s interests are served appropriately and professionally before, during and post-Games. The time period commitment, including pre- and post-games duties, runs through the Fall 2015.

Applicants must have legal knowledge of the dispute resolution process in the Canadian sport system. Experience as an athlete, coach, staff or volunteer at a major international Games considered an asset. Applications are due by Jaunary 9, 2015. (Canadian Paralympic Cmte Employment & Volunteering.)
