Rosan Gomperts, Director of Stanford University's Faculty Staff Help Center, has been appointed the Interim University Ombuds. (Ellen Waxman, Director of Faculty Relations at Stanford School of Medicine and former Stanford Ombuds was also briefly the Interim Ombuds.) A search to permanently fill the position has been on-going since October 2017.
This is the second time that Gomperts has succeeded David Rasch, who retired from the Ombuds position last year. Until 2004, he had served as Director of the Faculty Staff Help Center. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 1984 and earned her MSW from San Francisco State University. A licensed clinical social worker, Gomperts has worked at Stanford since 1994. (Stanford Ombuds.)

With the ombuds reporting so far below the president, it should not be a surprise that they are having an issue filling the position.
