The multilateral development finance institution based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire has opened a search for a second Ombudsman. (It appears that a search for this new position earlier this year was not successful.) The job in the AfDB Office of Ombudsman and Mediator reports to the Ombudsman, Alisand Singogo, and provides impartial, confidential, independent and informal assistance to staff with workplace grievances and complaints. Some travel to country offices is required.
Applicants must have a master’s degree or its equivalent in alternative dispute resolution or a related field, and at least seven years of relevant international experience. Training in ADR, experience in conflict management, and experience working in the private sector is are all desirable. Seven years of experience, including three years of management experience are required. Somewhat ambiguously, "Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in both the English or French languages." Also, the position "is open to female candidates only."
