Derrell Bulls is a marketing professor at Texas Woman’s University and recently stepped down as the volunteer chairman of the board of Denton Regional Medical Center. “Dr. Bulls is both a valued colleague among his peers and a favorite professor to his students,” said TWU Chancellor and President Ann Stuart. “His agreement in 2006 to serve as the university’s first ombudsperson is but one of many contributions that mark his more than 30 years of dedicated service to TWU and its students.” Bulls attended Navarro College in Corsicana for two years, working his way through school on an oil rig derrick. He received an undergraduate and a graduate degree from what is now the University of North Texas and a doctorate from Texas Tech University. (Denton Record-Chronicle.)
