SelectUSA, the Commerce Department program that aims to improve business investment through federal services, has created an Ombudsman program following IOA standards.
According to the website for the program, which went online last week, the Ombuds program will complement SelectUSA's advocacy services and is intended to help companies and economic development organization with issues involving federal
regulations, programs, or activities related to existing, pending and
potential investment. In addition, the site states, "The SelectUSA Ombudsman operates within the standards of practice set
forth by the International Ombudsman Association and in particular will
be cognizant of the business sensitivity of the information you share." The Ombuds who staff the office are not identified. (SelectUSA Ombuds.)
