Coalition of Federal Ombudsman Elects Officers for 2014

CoFO has elected new officers. Wendy Kamenshine (CFPB), Neal Cohen (CPSC), Craig Cabrera (TSA), and Virginia Behr (FDA/CDER) have all rotated off the board.

Here are the new officers:

Chair -- Scott M. Deyo, Ombudsman, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
Vice-Chair -- William J. Maurer, Associate Ombudsman, U.S. Department of Energy
Secretary -- Noreen Kinnavy, Ombudsman, International Broadcasting Bureau, Voice of America, and Office of Cuba Broadcasting
Secretary -- Andrea B. Brown, Associate Ombudsman, U.S. Department of State
Coordinator -- Guy Weber, Associate Ombudsman, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

Organizational Ombuds

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
