The information security research institute (part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres) in Saarbrücken, Saarland, has appointed Cas Cremers and Andreas Zeller as its first Ombuds. Together, they will serve as "a confidential and independent resource for all CISPA members." (Currently, the center employs 218 people, but is expected soon to exceed 800.)
Cremers is faculty member at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security. He earned his PhD from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and did postdoctoral work at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Then, for two years, he was a Professor at the University of Oxford before he joined the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security in 2018.
Zeller is also a member of the faculty at CISPA. In addition, he is a Professor at nearby Saarland University. After earning his PhD at TU Braunschweig, he did postdoctoral work at TU Braunschweig and Passau University. He is an ACM Fellow. (CISPA Ombuds.)
