Lara Khalife-Dagher, the New York Regional Ombudsman for the Office of the United Nations Ombudsman and Mediation Services, authored an article for UN Today magazine: "Resolving Conflict Through the Secret Weapon of Informality." Khalife-Dagher reflects on the informality principle, what it means, and why it is important, from the perspective of a UN Ombuds. She concludes that an informal process offers many visitors something more more important a viable outcome: the opportunity to be heard, understood and respected.
She goes on to identify and explain the multiple other benefits of an informal process, especially when available as an alternative to a formal process. (UN Today.)
Nicely done!
