Meet the Inaugural Faculty Ombuds at Missouri S&T

Missouri University of Science and Technology appointed Sahra Sedigh Sarvestani as its first Faculty Ombuds in June 2023. (The webpage for her office went live this week.) The public research university in Rolla, Missouri established the part-time position to serve its 400 faculty members with workplace concerns and resolving conflicts. 

Sedigh Sarvestani has been a member of the Missouri S&T faculty since 2004 and has served as an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering since 2011. She also serves as the department's Distance Learning Coordinator and previously worked as a Research Engineer for Cisco Systems and as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Purdue University. She earned a BSEE from Sharif University of Technology and both an MSEE and PhD from Purdue University. (Missouri S&T Ombuds; LinkedIn.)
