The public university in Gainesville opened a search for Ombuds an last October with the expectation of filling the position at the first of the year. UFL has reposted the announcement, but has limited the search to internal candidates. The position reports directly to the Provost and serves the student body of 50,000. UFL seeks candidates with a graduate or professional degree and five years of university experience. The position will pay $50,000 to $75,000 based on qualifications and experience, and will begin July 1, 2010. Until then, the position is being filled by Tommie Howard, who has served as the Assistant Ombuds for several years. (UFL Jobs.)
