Grand Valley State University Creates Ombuds Office

The public, liberal arts university in Allendale, Michigan has appointed Takeelia Garrett to serve as its first Student Ombuds. The position is within the Dean of Students Office and serves a student population of about 25,000 undergraduates and graduates. Garrett has two decades of experience in student affairs and after-hours crisis management, and most recently worked as GVSU's Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life. (GVSU Ombuds.)
