The associate vice president will provide counsel to the President and others on institutional policy and practices relating to diversity and educational equity; will provide leadership and oversight to the University's diversity strategic plan and educational equity initiatives; continuously assess achievement of university diversity and educational equity efforts; and coordinate and assess the efforts of various campus units to increase pathways of success for all students, faculty and staff, especially those from traditionally underrepresented populations.The position was created just over a year ago and was initially held by Derrick Crawford. As ombudsperson, will be the designated impartial dispute resolution administrator whose major function is to provide confidential, neutral and informal assistance to constituents of the University; an advocate for fairness in the resolution of concerns and critical situations; and supplement, but not replace, the University's existing resources for conflict resolution.
