The U.S. Department of Defense program is hiring several Program Analysts to work within the Employee Support of the Guard & Reserve, Ombudsman Service Directorate from offices near Washington, DC. These "national level" Ombuds mediate complaints between military service members and their employers. Previously, much of this work was done by volunteers.
Here is a full list of the duties:
- Serve as National Case Manager (NCM) and Customer Service Center (CSC) representative in the Ombudsman Service Directorate.
- Perform analysis and evaluations of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, precedents and interrelated issues to determine program effectiveness, efficiency, quality and/or productivity.
- Provide national direction/management and implements quality assurance measures in the application and interpretation of the laws, regulations, policies, procedures and precedents applicable to the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) of 1994.
- Coordinate work efforts with approximately 300 volunteer ombudsmen who interface directly with Military Reserve and National Guard service members and civilian employers regarding USSERA matters.
The GS 11/12 positions pay $62,467-$97,333 per year. Applications are due January 29, 2013. (Federal Government Jobs.)
