The Federal Emergency Management Agency is hiring Advisors for its Alternative Dispute Resolution cadre. These are part-time, intermittent, on-call government positions
that support disaster operations with work that closely resembles Organizational Ombuds: assisting with employee and team conflicts, conducting training, facilitating
meetings and dialogs, and informing senior disaster management about trends and
areas of concern.
Applicants must have substantial experience in
mediation, facilitation, and conflict resolution training and the
ability to travel for 30 days at a time. The position pays $39.57
to
$39.57 per hour and applications are due this Friday, March 29, 2013. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. (USA Jobs, Job Ann. No.: FEMA-DH018-13)

I don't understand why some of these postings offer such short windows of opportunity. Is there really a good reason to close the application window after just five days when the organization is trying to fill multiple positions? Too bad for any qualified and interested candidates who may be on spring break with their families and taking a few days off from their job search.
