The Budapest-based, non-governmental organization that works to reduce the educational achievement gap between Roma and non-Roma in Europe, is hiring its first Ombudsperson. The primary task of the new Ombuds, "is to investigate, recommend solutions, mediate disputes and monitor the implementation of the solutions proposed in relation with complaints of procedural failures related to the scholarship program that are brought to his /her attention."
Applicants must have a law or other relevant degree, English proficienty, experience and familiarity with the REF Scholarship Program, and cannot have been a beneficiary, grantee, consultant or employee of REF or the Open Society Foundations within the last three years. Romani or other languages from the region would be an advantage. Candidates of Roma origin are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications are due July 31, 2014. No salary indicated. (REF Posting.)
