After an eight-month search, Kathleen Moore has been selected as the Ombudsman and Director, Office of the Ombudsman and Center for Cooperative Resolution at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. She succeeds Howard Gadlin, PhD, who retired as Ombudsman in December 2015. Moore served as Associate Ombudsman and Senior Associate Ombudsman of the Office of the Ombudsman since 2000, and has been its Acting Director since January 1, 2016.
Moore's background in employee relations, student counseling, and family therapy provides a strong behavioral approach to organizational concerns. She earned her PhD in Human and Organizational Psychology from George Mason University. She is joined by her colleagues David Michael, Deputy Ombudsman, Linda Brothers, Senior Associate Ombudsman, and Associate Ombudsmen Tyler Smith, Stephen Kotev, Judith Gail, and Rita Callahan, as well as Denise Burns, Staff Assistant, and Lisa Witzler, Peer Resolution Process (PRP) Program Officer.
